Reliable as always

This was my fifth order from Arrow Films, and they continue to be consistent. I got 'The Hills Have Eyes' on 4K this time. The packaging was secure, like my previous orders, and the disc arrived without any scratches or issues. Shipping times have always been pretty reliable for me, usually within two weeks to the East Coast. It's why I keep coming back; I know what to expect in terms of quality and service, which isn't always the case with other boutique labels. No surprises, just good, solid releases every time.

Good deal on horror flicks

I was looking for some classic horror on Blu-ray and checked out Arrow Films for the first time. They had a '2 for 25 pounds' offer on some titles, which felt like a solid deal considering the usual price for these special editions. I picked up 'Blood and Black Lace' and 'Deep Red'. The shipping cost to the US was a bit high, but the discount on the movies themselves made the overall price feel reasonable for what I got. Good value, especially for collector's items.

Loved my new Blu-ray!

Oh my gosh, I just received the 'Madman' Limited Edition Blu-ray and it's fantastic! The packaging is beautiful and the transfer is incredible. Everything about it was perfect, from ordering to unboxing. I'm so glad I finally picked this up. I will absolutely be buying more from Arrow Films, they do such a great job with these releases!

Mostly good, one small issue

I ordered the 'Battle Royale' 4K box set during their April sale. The overall experience was quite good; the website was easy to navigate and checkout was smooth. Shipping to the US took about two weeks, which is standard for international. The box set itself is gorgeous, but a corner of the slipcase was slightly dinged when it arrived. It's minor, but for a collector's item, it's a small detail that could be improved with better packaging. Still, the film transfer is excellent and customer service was quick to respond when I asked about tracking, so mostly positive.

Got my box set!

Hey, so I finally snagged that 'Giallo Essentials' box set during their sale last month. Shipping took a bit, but it arrived in perfect shape. The films look amazing, way better than I remembered. Really happy with it, felt like finding a treasure. Will definitely check out their next big sale.

Is Arrow better than Criterion? Trying to decide where to spend my money on some classic horror. The extras look good on both but not sure which has better transfers.

T Tom Brooks 2 months ago
It really depends on the film! Both do amazing work. Arrow tends to focus more on cult, horror, and Giallo, while Criterion is broader. For pure horror, Arrow often has the edge with restorations and special features specific to those genres. I'd compare specific titles.

They both excel in different areas. I feel like Arrow often digs up more obscure stuff and their packaging can be wilder. Criterion is usually more 'prestigious' but honestly, Arrow's transfers are top-notch these days.

Quick question about their discs: are Arrow Video Blu-rays region locked for US players? Or can I just pop them in and go?

K Kate P. 2 months ago
Most of their US releases are Region A, so they'll play fine. But check the product page for imports, sometimes those can be B or All. It's usually listed clearly though.

I've got a bunch and never had an issue with region locking on their US specific releases. Always good to double check the product description just in case, but generally you're safe.

Anyone know if the Shocktober sale is gonna happen again this year? Been eyeing a few box sets and hoping for a good discount.

C Cody Lindqvist 2 months ago
Oh, Shocktober is pretty much a given every year. It's their big one for horror. I'd keep an eye out around early October.

Yeah, it always happens. Usually has some solid 50% off deals. Definitely worth waiting for if you're not in a rush.

Got a damaged slipcase on a recent order. What's their return policy like for something like that? Is it a pain?

R Renee Reyes 2 months ago
Nah, they're usually pretty good about damaged items. Just contact their customer service with photos, and they'll usually sort out a replacement or a refund. I had a dinged steelbook once and they sent a new one.

Returns were easy for me when I got a bent art card. Just shoot them an email with pictures. Took a few days for them to respond but they resolved it.

Hey, thinking of grabbing some stuff from Arrow's site for the first time. Do they even ship to the US? And if so, what's the typical wait time?

M Megan 2 months ago
Yeah, they definitely ship to the US. I've ordered from them a few times. Usually takes about 2-3 weeks for me on the East Coast, sometimes a bit faster if you're lucky.

Can confirm, they ship here. My last order got to California in about 16 days. Not super fast but worth it for those editions.
